What should my child wear for class?

 

Athletic wear, including a t-shirt, pants (leggings, shorts, sweatpants all acceptable), shoes with non-marking soles, and their fencing glove. 

 

Are your classes insured?

 

Yes, through the Alberta Fencing Association! Fencers may participate up the 3 times before they must purchase a license with the AFA. Schools are exempt from an AFA membership; separate coverage is provided. 

 

What are your term dates?

 

The fall classes run from September - December; winter classes run from January - May; and summer classes/camps run June - August. Please see the schedule under "Classes" to learn specific dates and times!

How do I pay for classes?

 

Payment may be made in-club with cash, cheque, or credit (utilizing Square), or online here

Are your coaches qualified?

Our Head Coach is an Olympic gold medalist in her weapon, and has over thirty years experience coaching and training athletes to their own competitive fencing careers. Our head and assistant coaches have NCCP training, first aid training, and accreditation with the AFA. 

 

Can we still join your classes after the term has started?

 

Absolutely! Please contact the office for more information on joining a class later in to the term. 

Do you have birthday parties?

 

Yes! We offer a variety of introductory fencing "demos," including birthday parties! 

Details:

  • 90 minute lesson lead by a certified coach, including a warm up, footwork, bladework, and of course, fencing! 

  • An extra 30 minutes fencing is an additional $50. 

  • A space for cake and presents after fencing may be provided for $30/30 minutes. 

  • A $50 deposit is required to secure a booking. 

  • $150 minimum charge; an additional $10 per person after 15 people.
